Child playing with crossbow

    What happens in this situation?

A neighbour's child recently shot her father's arrow right through double glazed windows into another neighbour's kitchen. Thankfully no one was in the kitchen at the time and no one was seriously injured. The window had to be replaced as obviously the arrow cut clean through the glass, leaving an arrow sized hole. The guards were obviously called but apparently nothing can be done to take the crossbow from the hands of this very irresponsible crossbow owning parent. He has all the required paperwork to own the crossbow and arrows. What happens now? Besides from everyone living in the vicinity being afraid of such an incident happening again? It is a young neighbourhood with mainly small children living in the area.

Crossbows are licenced as Restricted Firearms, so this is a matter for the Chief Superintendent.

As I understand it one of the criteria for a firearms license to be granted is that the firearm must be stored in a gun safe. In theory the crossbow as a firearm, could/should be stored in a similar fashion therefore out of the hands of the kid.

How the hell does a small child cock a crossbow? That is an irresponsible parent letting a child have a go. It should be confiscated
