Just wondering my partner and I are renting a house that we are moving out of in a couple of months.  We are moving into our new self build and will hopefully have our own well.  Can we pay our water bill for the rented house without giving our personal details e.g. Names etc? We don't want IW having our details but will pay the bill.

    Thanks

I did it through online banking and just referenced the account number on the bill, after the direct debit was messed up. I had registered but I think unregistered bills get account numbers.

Customer are able to pay their water bill without registering their details but Irish Water would advise customers to register their details to ensure accurate billing and to be eligible to apply for the Water Conservation Grant. You can contact Irish Water on 1890 448 448.

I understand that you will be moving property in the coming months and are planning on having your own well, but individuals classed as non-customers are still eligible to apply for the Conservation Grant.

Unfortunately the deadline for registering your details to be eligible to apply for the 2015 Water Conservation Grant has passed. However, we would advise registering your details so you can receive an accurate bill and to be eligible to apply for the Water Conservation Grant, which is a multi-annual grant.

I hope you find this information helpful.

    Kind regards,
    Niall

Why would you "advise" the OP to register their details to get an accurate bill to apply for the Water Conservation Grant when you alredy pointed out before that the time for registering for same grant has expired ???

This seems more proof of Irish Water twisting their words to get people's information which they do not require. Adding to the scam pile.

To get an accurate bill full stop?

You dont need to provide a bill for accurate bill, just provide meter readings regulary same as ESB.

All in all irish water is another leech on the country that is already struggling.

If you don't have a meter the bill is based on occupancy, hence the need to inform them if more than one adult lives there. Similarly if you are billed according to metered usage you may be eligible for allowances (currently just children I think, but there's a case for allowances for medical needs) so you need to let them know if you want to avail of them. Whether you're metered or not a cap applies and that cap is based on occupancy.

Currently there are no allowances for customers with medical needs as all charges are capped until 2018. This may be review after 2018 and Irish Water will communicate any updates with our customers.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any other queries you may have.
