I'm looking into first time buying with an extremely limited budget of 800-1000. Is it possible to find something safe that has already passed the NCT and will do so again in a few months with this budget?

Any cars I find on Donedeal for this price seem to be a job or two away from passing the NCT. Am I better off waiting until my budget is slightly bigger or do I just need to look harder?

As a reference I've mainly been looking at Polos, golfs, fiestas, micras, yarises and mazda 323's. I'm 20 years old have two years driving experience (named) and am hoping to pass my test on the second attempt in the next few months.

Anything is possible but you are really in a mine field when it comes to cars at this end of the market. You would really want to know your beans as there is so much junk out there for sale.

find someone who knows there stuff and take them with you to give the potential cars a full going over, there tons of suitable cars out there for you budget, my advise is to stick with late 90's-early '00 japaneese cars like Nissan, Toyota, Maxadas etc
Aviod anything French and most ford will be rotted out with tin worm by now,

Hi I'm selling my car 01 avensis 1.6 and it's 100% for 1275 euro. Great car great value. I reckon you'd get something for 1000 euro with an nct that's pretty presentable. Depends what your after I suppose. Small car I'd go for a renault clio. Just my opinion there's people on here with a lot of knowledge. Happy hunting 😊

Surely you'd get a 99 Corolla with NCT for less than a grand. I've one that's used as a second car with 150k and I'm beginning to think the engine would be good for a million miles without any problems.
