    Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the Kilkenny or Laois area doing nixers?

    Hello Mr Revenue man...

Ya, I'm an undercover revenue inspector sent back in time on a mission to create a sting operation on boards.ie!
    Ahahahaha
You'd want to take off the tinfoil hat there ya tool

I live on the Laois/KK border. I'm trying to get a job done cheaper than the quote I got from the garage. I supply the parts ..... mechanic supplies the labour. The garage is looking for 300 labour....which is a bit rich IMO.
But ya, your version is better.

You wont find many decent mechanics that will let you supply the parts, nixer or not.

What car is it and what needs doing?

    Its an Audi A6
Front pads + disks, rear pads and both front susp stabiliser links.
Parts are up on motorparts.ie for 250 incl vat.
Garage are looking for 550 and main dealer is more expensive again.
Seems like a lot of money for labour

€550 does sound a bit steep tbh. What year and engine?

Get some more quotes, you will get it done cheaper than that.

Average prices using very good quality aftermarket parts would be:
Front discs and pads €200 fitted
    Rear pads €90 fitted
    Front arb links €100 fitted
