Sky Sports mobile app on Sony Z3

In preparation to switching to Vodafone I decided to try out the Sky Sports app to see if it is worth using when signing up to their RED Extra Entertainment pack so I looked up their compatible devices and Sony Z3 was on it. After I signed up for free trial with google account when I went to watch a match it came up "the device you using is not currently supported by sky sports mobile tv". I am running 5.1.1 and the minimum it says is 5.1 so I can't see the problem. On googling the issue, questions about the phone being rooted were the cause but mine is unrooted. Anyone come across this before or any suggestions? I bought the phone for amazon uk so the phone could be UK or German in origin but surely this cannot be the issue as all other apps work.

I think that this app doesn't work (intentionally) on phones that support MHL, in order not to project to a big screen. I tried this app with Xperia Z and Z3+ and was getting the same message. It was working fine though on a M4 Aqua, which doesn't support MHL. Was thinking to experiment with Miracast but gave up in the meantime, as I got the Sports package from eir.
