Incorrect registration? Single person billed as two adults

    Hello!
I didn't know I could have reached to you through boards.ie too, I'll try here to get some trivial information about my situation.

I moved into an apartment last April and I'm the only one living in it. I usually don't have guests, no partner, nothing.

My letting agent said I was registered with Irish Water, but when I received my very first bill at the beginning of August I saw a small notice saying "Registered customers may be charged a lower amount if there is only one adult or [...]" and I was charged as two or more adults.

The bill was 63.40 €, for a billing period of 89 days, for water and wastewater, unmetered tariff. I registered on water.ie and asked a question through the website too, and I understood I'm not registered with Irish Water, and if I do I'm supposed to pay almost half of what I'm currently paying.

I already paid the full amount of the bill of course, and now I'm out of the country. I will be back in a few days and I'd like to register properly as soon as possible. Do I need to have some documents ready when calling, to prove there's only one single adult in the apartment?

Since I already paid the bill while I was supposed to pay approximately 40 €, are future bills going to be adjusted because of this overpayment?

    Thank you!

    Hi JackHeuston,

    Thanks for contacting us.

You do not need any information proving that you are the only person living in the property. When you are calling our Billing Department on 1890 448 448, if you quote your WPRN and account number which are located on your bill a member of our team will be happy to assist you with this matter then.

To answer your final question yes future bills will be adjusted to reflect this.

If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Kim
