I am looking at importing a Fiat 126p from Gdansk/gdynia. Does anyone have any experience with shipping companies or know any other cost effective methods or transport. Unfortunately driving the 126 across Europe is slightly impractical. Especially as it will probably be pre 1985.

    Try this one:

I can't put full url as I'm a new user.

Probably the cheapest option would be to drive it assuming it will make it.
Next cheapest to get some truck haulier to take it, but loading it onto the truck in between other pallets might not be ideal and might be some damage to the vehicle.
You could pay full rate for car transporter, but I believe it would be expensive.
Maybe just organise car transporter trailer and drive yourself to pick it up - might come much cheaper then having it transported by proper vehicles shipping agent.
