hi all . living in Carrick , just started driving and was wondering does anyone know any places that are quiet to practice driving . i have very little confidence and would like to practice parking , gear changes etc . many thanks

Are you near an industrial park? if so, maybe try in there in the evenings after 7pm or so, should be fairly quiet by then
