    Yeah, mad money.

OP, they are both the same engine, so reliability should be the same in terms of likely things to go wrong on both. It all comes down to how each was maintained and the general condition of the cars as they stand.

You'd get a 320d for the price of the second one!

see has it service history and give the car a good test drive, get it up to temp. look on bmw forums and see whats a common fault and question seller did he have this issue already and ask what was done on car in past so you have a good idea what was replaced

I would go for the first one (G reg) over the M Sport.

Price more realistic. Nicer less common colour. Wheels are: less common, more comfortable, cheaper tyres.

If you do buy get yourself a spare coil from Mister-Auto.ie for €13 and keep it in the boot.

We have a 06 318i, 129BHP, good car let down bit by unreliable coils (all four failed at different times, in hindsight should have replaced all four together)... that said I would imagine they have been replaced at those mileages.

I'd have neither of them being honest:

The first one is a basic ES model which doesn't have many toys.
The second one is a higher spec M Sport but overpriced given the mileage on it.

If I were in the market for a car like that then I'd consider something like below, granted it's not rwd but the Accord is still very nice to drive and less likely to give trouble. Decent bit of poke in them too with 155bhp.
