Hi, I am seeking some help from Mercedes owners who may have suffered a similar experience.
    My story is that
I was driving along a motorway in a 2010 registered Mercedes e200; a puff of white smoke emmitted from the exhaust; bad rattling sound was emitted from engine; accompanied by a sudden and almost complete loss of power. I pulled over and stopped car immediately.
Have others experienced (A)a simimilar complete engine failure (B) what alternatives did the have (C) Any recourse from Mercedes or is it just tough luck. It may be worth adding that I have been reading in forums about problems with both c and e class where a compinent is coming off and entering the engine causing full engine failure. Seems to be what my mechanic is assessing it to be.
Thanks. Confused and bitterly disappointed Mercedes driver
