I need a hobby... I am wondering if anyone can give me advice on starting mountain biking. Firstly I do not have a bike and will be looking to rent one to make sure I enjoy it first before forking out for a bike.

Are there any clubs that new members can join?

I have seen on Biking.ie they do tours, does anybody have any experience of these tours in Ballinastoe would you recommend for a novice rider?

Any information and guidance on the best way to start off biking would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi derra 121

As ya mentioned. give mtbing a go first before you fork out on a bike. The tours up in ballinastoe are well worth doing and ask for niall if hes around. you can also rent bikes in limerick ( well worth a weekend long visit) and rostrevor. As for clubs, they will all be holding beginners spins over the next month or two so its a good time to join and find all the hidden trails. check out Madmtb Epicmtb, imbrc. Once ya get a bike head up to 3rock mountain day or night and you'ill find loads of Mtb'ers..
