Their cloth and construction (€259 for a half canvass) seems too good to be true.

Has anyone ever bought from them, how would they compare against Canali for example?

Yep, I have the Soho double breasted suit.

It's fantastic. Great construction, great fit, beautiful cloth and design. Can't fault it. Was more than €259 but still, for the price I paid I got a great suit.

I was lucky enough to get to the London store so I was able to try on a few jackets to see what fitted, but I found their fits to be pretty much on the mark. IOW, I'm normally a 42L and the SS suit was no different.

Trousers are a little tighter than what you might get here, but it suits the flow of the jacket as they are cut relatively slim, so if you're packing a few extra pounds it might not be for you. Having said that, I still took mine to the tailor to let it out a bit.

The packaging is cool - you get a big box with the suit perfectly hung on a hanger inside. Well worth it!

Cheers, what's the construction like? Is the lining of the jacket a big flashy colour? Any thoughts on how they compare to Canali?

    No, plain, classy, understated.

Having never owned a Canali suit, I couldn't tell you.

Had to wear a suit of theirs when I was a best man for my mate's wedding last year. Hated it. Suit that was technically in my size but felt at least two sizes too big, was really baggy, and I spent around 100eur on alterations (it was too close to the wedding date to go anywhere else). And the material felt rubbish.

After the wedding ceremony, I took off the jacket and went up to the room I was staying in, and came down in just the shirt I had been wearing (my own) and a new pair of trousers (in the same colour of the suit) that I purposely picked up on the previously from Zara on the cheap the day before. And those trousers were a much better fit and better material, despite being a complete afterthought plan B. I couldn't get out of the suit fast enough.

Can I ask, why did you buy it if it was too big and baggy? Those are two words I would definitely not use to describe Suitsupply!

    This is mine anyway:

Have literally never heard a bad thing about them.

I live abroad, so the groom asked me to get measured and submit my measurements to him before I got back on holiday. It was a bit of a clusterf*ck on his part as he left everything quite late so once the suits arrived, that was it. I double-checked that the suit I had was actually meant to be my size, and it was. So the best I could do was pay for last-minute alterations.

Even aside from the bagginess, I wasn't impressed with the material or the feel of the suit. When I got home the next day I threw it in the bin.

And it was definitely SS? Wow. You should've stuck it up on eBay, you'd have found a buyer in no time.

Yours look great. Maybe mine (picked by the groom) was a rubbish style and fit of theirs. Either way, mine was an unusual case because it's rare when you have to wear something picked out for you and you don't get to try it on before buying.

That's a nice fit especially for double breasted. You don't look like a 42L from the pic, is that your standard size or did you go one size up?

That's a 42L, and that's my normal size. Do you think I look bigger, or smaller? I'm 6'5", so length of jacket is the crucial part for me.

The thing with this jacket is the shoulders are unstructured, i.e. there is no padding. So you need to be broad enough to pull it off. Luckily, I am. :)

Have two of there suits. Love them. Had them altered so they fit like a glove. Love if they opened a shop in Dublin. I don't think there is a place in Dublin that comes close to SuitSupply suits for value for money and quality of suit.

Anyone no anywhere similar in Dublin? I'm on the look out for a new suit. The only place i could think of would be louis copeland..

The only problem you'll face is paying three times the price and they might try and hustle some older "sale" suit on you to move their stock - that happened with me once, I bought a suit and later found a ticket inside with a name and alterations details! I've always found their sales guys to be a bit too "suits you sir".

By contrast, the sales guy in the London Suitsupply store was great - he listened carefully when I told him what I was after, he went off and found lots of jackets to try, and even though I told him I wasn't going to be buying that day (I was going to order online when I got home) he stayed with me and brought out various styles to try. I left 100% certain what suit I was going to order, and that I was definitely going to buy it.

Would be great if they did open a store - I think it could help change the way Irish men wear suits (which at the moment is dreadful). Could lead to an awful lot more smartly dressed men walking around!

The other thing LC is that the LC branded suits are actually Baumler suits with LC branding on them and the extra mark up!!!
All those lads who think they're buying a bespoke LC suit are actually buying a Baumler suit with a few alterations.

However, at the price point, Baumler are they best suits in the circa €300 category, M&S, Remus and even Strellson aren't as nice IMO.

Looking at the Suitsupply website and their purple line Napoli navy, half canvased, Barberis wool (which is same wool as Zegna suits) is almost too good to be true.

That's exactly my feeling about SS, "too good to be true". I'm waiting for someone to point out the catch, or for the suit to fall apart at the seams! It won't though. I wear it once a week and it still looks like the day I got it.

Emailed them seeing if there was a Dublin shop in the pipeline. They said no :( would be great for Dublin. Nothing compares to them in Dublin ATM.

I don't know if they would do as well in Dublin. Dublin, if not Irish men, don't really have an interest in that type of menswear, if judging by the men you see walking around town is anything to go by.

They might sell a few suits based on the price, and they are cheaper than M&S, but a lot of their lines wouldn't move as they wouldn't be appealing to most Irish men.

I'd be friggin' over the moon however. Then again, I know what fits me from SS so I can order anytime. In fact, I have my eye on my next purchase... :)

I bought a jacket off them, I measured myself up per instructions on the website and entered the details, gave me back 38S which is what I am with most suits and jackets from stores in Dublin.

Anyway, jacket arrived and it was massively over sized for a 38S. I mean it could have been a 40L. I checked to see if they sent me the wrong size but was definitely a 38S. The sleeves were perfect length but the amount of room remaining on the jacket was laughable.

I spoke to a guy in work who buys them all the time, and his suits always look well fitted. He said that I would probably be a 36M in their sizes, which I found strange as he said they generally fit small.

In any case, no hassle sending it back, they give you a UPS sticker and you can drop it off at a UPS location. Received refund efficiently. The quality was decent.

Why not just try and send back if it does not fit, free returns.

That was the worry I had, and luckily I got to try on suit jackets in London. It's weird, as most people seem to think their jackets are often too small, and you have to go larger.
