This question probably answers itself but here goes anyway :o

We have two small trucks in work.
One an Isuzu NQR 7500kg GVW - (C1 licence),
    The other a MAN 12000kg GVW - (C licence).

One driver has a C licence the other a C1. The driver with the C1 licence also has a C1E on his licence allowing him to pull a trailer with a combined limit of 12000kg.

Would the driver with the C1-C1E licence therefore have a licence to drive the MAN 12000kg GVW truck or is it the 7500kg GVW Isuzu only for him?

Its probably a ridiculous question but just want to know for sure!!!

No, the C1E guy's licences only covers him for all that mass when it's a combined truck and trailer. 'Combined' being the operative word. If you're in any doubt, give the NDLS a call and they'll clarify.

C1 allows him to drive Isuzu. He can not drive the Man.
C1E is irrelevant to that as it only applies to trailers.
