    Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice really and a steer in the right direction. I'm trying to find info on monitoring usage from air con units in a domestic setting. How straight forward/what's involved from an electrical point of view and can a monitor be installed retrospectively - I've looked online but it's difficult to find info. on it. Thanks.

If you can trace the supply back to the distribution board then it should be fairly easy to install a DIN rail mounting kWh meter dedicated to the aircon circuit.

Otherwise, a simple hour meter wired across the compressor motor supply will give you information on usage, from which you can estimate consumption.
