Requesting Eircom to move me to higher VDSL2 profile

Has anyone be able to be put on a VDSL2 profile higher than what their line would allow? I'm looking to eke out as much as possible. I'm on the 30/8 profile and currently get 30/3~. My modem suggests that 35~38 is the attainable down (of course, changes with weather etc.). While I understand the modem might drop out/re-connect with any sudden environmental changes effecting the attainable, Eircom won't bump me to the 40/10 profile which would in theory give me around 36/3~. Every little bit helps as they say :D

    Anyone else come across this?

Systematically you cant be set higher than the prequal value. With those attains you wont rate for 40Mb, so they cant set you that high.

So, if someone had an eircom contact they could override the prequal value in guessing

Dont know if that'd even work, a month later the re-test would update back to the accurate prequal.

The system is there to build for stability. In the UK your line would automatically scale itself back to the 28Mb profile after just 2 or 3 drops with DLM, at least here things are a little more predictable.
