Tip for Tiler???

    Hi everyone,

We recently hired a tiler who quoted us a set price for a job. As we were doing other work to the house at the time, the builder slowed him down immensely and messed him about time-wise. As a result the job took him much longer to complete.

Although we've already paid him the agreed rate, towards the end we agreed an additional days rate to come back in a few weeks to tie up the loose ends when the builder is finished. Should we give him some sort of tip on top of this for being messed about? We'll have paid him the originally agreed rate, plus an additional days rate?

    Thanks in advance,
    K

it's completely up to yourself but I know that there is literally nothing worse than people milling around and in your way when doing any type of tiling especially if downstairs in a house, if he's coming back to snag a few loose ends then even giving him 20/30 extra and telling him to have a drink is always really appreciated. Unfortunately some people think your a piece of dirt when working in their house and won't even offer you a cup of tea. pathetic really but I've lost count of the amount of times it's happened.
The guy seemed really accommodating so I know it'll be appreciated
