Whats the next step? (From Istick 30w)

Started vaping pretty much exactly 6 months ago with the istick 30w and mini nautilus tank, done exactly what i needed and got me off the smokes and enjoying vaping, love it! However, the old soldier is starting to let me down, i think the battery is dying a death because its failing to charge and even if it does charge the battery wastes within a half hour of vaping. (Thankfully a mate gave me a lend of his istick until i get sorted, he's a weekend vaper)

So time to buy a new device and its amazing to see how quickly things have moved on in the 6 months that i last looked up a device to buy. Its actually a bit overwhelming again as i dont really have a clue what the hell to buy. I'm a mouth to lung user and don't care for exploding clouds all around me so my initial thought was "i don't need a high powered 100w sub ohm device" etc, all i want is something that gives me a good battery life (better hopefully than the istick), and good flavour. Pretty obvious stuff, but now with the temperature control mods popping up (don't like what i'm reading about the nickel involved on those) alongside say the new 100w Istick i'm a bit stuck as to what will suit an ABC vapor like myself so i'm here asking for advice on what you lads would think is the next best step. Any help appreciated!

Not many mouth to lung devices out there at the moment, there is a couple of good ones but as usual it will be a long wait for them to arrive here.I would stay with the Nautilus for the moment,I am using about 8 Nautilus's with Kanthal coils on different mods & no probs at all,I know you said that you are a bit wary of Nickel,I am using 9 Nickel coils in different clearo's & mods for about 6 weeks now & the taste & vapor is excellent,8 of them are lung hit clearo's except for one which is a Nautilus with a Nickel coil & doing mouth to lung with a 24mg liquid & I am really enjoying it,I am rocking it on an istick TC 40w,it has been nearly a week since I started vaping on that Nautilus with no probs, must admit,I find very little difference between the Nautilus Kanthal & Nickel coil, the Nickel coil gives me a slight more air.Would you be into building your own coils on a RTA for instance with mouth to lung hits.
Regarding the battery mod, this is a tough one one now, there are so many good ones out there at the moment, they are all in a similar price range,do you go for very cheap, good battery life or quality, built in batteries or replaceable batteries,I use most of these & a good few of them with 18650's which don't seem to hold the charge too well,I find the built in batteries last a hell of alot longer,if a mod had temp control & it was perfect for your needs, just use the Power setting for your Kanthal coils,my favourite is the Evic-VT which I use for all three coils & can handle them great, not a big 100w mod but fairly powerful with a cool & easy to use display with a 5000mAh battery that will probably last an easy 3 days mouth to lung on one charge & it has quality.
Not for putting in your shirt pocket though...
I have three of them so I might be a bit biased with the Evic as I am as blind as a bat but it's the only mod I have that I can clearly see the screen:D:D:D

I got a iStick 40TC around a month ago and love it. The battery just about lasts a day for me and no doubt it will be knackered in 6 months. The nature of high draw power devices means having them wear out fast. Having more power means a bigger device and for me the iSticks just feel the perfect size and fit in the hand.

Now that your a vaper rather then someone trying to give up the fags you should have a go at taking things to the next level. Get a subtank mini plus - you get a nice tank that can use prebuilt coils and you can also have a go a making your own, everything comes with the tank to get you going.

Thanks for the help guys, took a bit of a gamble and bought the subox mini starter kit. Cant really say what i think of it so far other than its definitely a more "airy" inhale than my usual mini nautilus even on the tightest airhole with the 1.5 coil that came with it, but the flavour is pretty great. Only had an hour on it so far but definitely excited to see how it treats me over the next few months.

Actually i think the one major thing i have to get used to is the plastic short drip tip compared to my mini nautilus metal and narrow drip tip!

    Hi,
Just a note on the Subtank Mini you got with the subox kit.
If you require a tighter sdraw than the smallest holes, it is easily done.
Use the biggest airhole and slowly turn it until the gap is tiny.
The airflow ring should stay exactly where you left it.
    Hope that helps!
