looking for information on Parsons family history

Hi Looking for information on my great great grandad Richard Parsons and his family he was born 1845 or 46 in St johns parish Michael's lane gardens his parents were Patrick and Margaret Parsons née Dowling he married Margaret cahill in 1868 in freshford anymore information would be a great help thanks :-)

Not sure from your query if you're from Kilkenny yourself - but there are a number of Parsons families still living in the St John's Parish area who have been here (I would imagine) for generations. Maybe you are already in touch with them?

Hi no never been to kilkenny wow can't believe there are still people with the name still living in the parish it would be amazing if they are of the same lineage is there any old photos or records of the parsons families in like a archives there etc?

I wouldn't know that but I'm sure if you wanted to contact them you would have no bother - they are well-known in the town and probably some of them would be in the phone directory.

Hi ye I looked up the phone book there are a few listed I don't know how they would feel me just ringing out of the blue like that but It might be worth taking a trip to kilkenny to see where my great great grandad and his family came from especially now I know there are still possible links to my parsons living there you said they are well known around town can you tell me more about that? :-)
