Hi, I'm currently researching a laptop for when i start computer science course. Budget is around 800€ and was wondering if anyone knew of any great deals at the moment online?

An Intel i5 processor and 4gb are a must with maybe 500gb hdd.

Also if i was to get it delivered to a parcel hotel, dies anyone know from personal experience if they are of appropriate size? Thanks

PM will likely need the larger unit, but its only an extra euro or so. It wont be "Oversize".

If its to be lugged to college, get something LIGHT. Seriously. Also you want 8GB and buy an SSD too (Makes all the difference moving lecture halls). I'd look at refurb/second hand Ultrabooks.

I'm typing this on an x220. I absolutely love it.

If your thinking of buying outside Ireland check camelcamelcamel for prices on amazon across Europe, I find Germany, France and Spain to be better value than buying from the UK, and you don't need to use parcel motel as they'll ship direct to Ireland.

Fulfilled By Amazon orders generally come with free delivery to Ireland (for orders above £20) and will very often ship from the Dublin warehouse, so ParcelMotel isn't needed there either. But yeah, good call on CamelCamelCamel. Do the EU Amazon stores deliver to Ireland for free too?
