    Hi Folks

I am currently leaving outside Duleek.. Tried Eircom and i can only get around 1.6mb speeds.. Very bad. (Around 6 Km from exchange)
I tried 3 Mobile broadband.. Get a max of 2-3 mb during day ( for around 2-3 hrs). Come evening i would be lucky to get 0.5mb.
I have just moved to this location and i am getting very frustrated. I miss my online gaming as i can not play with these brutal speeds. Streaming via Netflix and YouTube is also a right pain..

Would anyone have any suggestions.. Is satellite the only way to go..

    Rgds
    John

If you like gaming, no satellite is not the way to go.

    Your options are (googled):
sky, voafone, eircom, pure telecom, digiweb. - Which will be the same as you've experienced.
midband from 3, vodafone, meteor, etc. - Which will be the same as you've experienced.
A local/regional fixed wireless provider. Installation is usually a hundred euro for the antenna.

Satellite would be even worse than Mobile, so stay clear unless you are totally stuck.

Have you checked any Wireless providers? If not, go to this map, drop the marker on your house and tick the Wireless ISPs option on the left. This will give you a list of providers in the area. Give em a call and they should be able to say whether they actually hit your house or not.

Check for limits in the fair usage policy if you do want to stream and game. Some are genuinely unlimited, others aren't.

p.s. - You've been a boardsie for nearly 9 years and this is your first post?!?!

    thanks for response folks

I am living in a bit of a black spot for the wireless providers..

Got a signal test completed by all 3 of them and they can't provide me a service.

LOL MMFITWGDV Never needed to ask a question in last 9 years.. Stuck now thats why i asked the question..

Shoulda asked the question before you moved unfortunately. If the FWA guys can't hit you then chances are you'll see no improvement for 2-3yrs.
