Well I've talked about running since forever. Tried a few times back when i did a lot of weights and never did more than a mile or two every year. I'd try hate it and stop after one time trying to run.
So now age late 30s, in reasonable shape, I play squash a lot, 5 hrs a week spread over 3 times a week.
I went out with two buddies for a 5k run about 3 weeks ago. I hated the running but like meeting up with buddies so I kept it up.
Today I did my 1st run of week three, I'm just trying to stick to 5kms 30 mins 3 times a week.
I did 5.3kms today in 27mins. Not done a park run yet but it's on my to do list, bar codes printed and all!
So that's me, trying to get fitter for squash so plan is keep up 3 runs a week 30mins/5kms for 6 weeks then see what to do next.
Coach said this 6 weeks of running would be a good base for squash before season starts and I could do less time but more intense.
But I've always wanted to try running and this is the most commited I've ever been to it. Helps having mates to meet up at weekend for a run. Motivaties me to get out during the week.
Going on holidays tomorrow though to USA, it'll be lows 20 degrees at night and 30s during the day, might try get up before breakfast and run. Will be fun to see what it's like to just run and not squash too, might be bit more fresh for running.
Any way, that's me, have no iphone or watch gps, so very old school, I drive a run after or just try run for the 30mins some route from house.

    Tips suggestions etc gladly taken.

You're playing a lot of squash! Are you playing Premier League and what club are you with?

If squash is your main focus I would have thought tempo runs would be more productive.
