Changing my business - Back to Work Enterprise Allowance

Does anyone know if it is possible to change your business if you're in receipt of BTWEA? I don't want to go into too much detail on this forum but I got approved a couple of months ago for a certain type of business, just myself alone, no staff, I didn't claim any of the available grants or anything. Things aren't working out for me but I don't want to tell them that in case they take me off it.

I am qualified to work self-employed as something else and would like to give it a shot whilst I am on this scheme but I could probably do with receiving one of the grants that is available to get things started.

Someone else told me that once you're on the scheme they don't really care what you're doing for the 2 years as you can't go on it again for another 5 years. I'm trying to decide if it's worth telling them or forgo the grant and keep my head down and hope my other line of work, works out for me.

My payment is due to drop in 4 months to €140 and I think my other area of work has more chance of giving me a steady income than the proposal with which I got on the scheme in the first place.

Anyone able to advise? I do be awful paranoid about anything to do with social welfare but I feel it's kind of now or never to try my plan B as I won't be able to on regular Jobseekers Allowance (which I'll have to revert back to at the end of Year 1 as €140 is too low for me and I'm making zero profit on what I'm doing at the moment).

    Thank you.
