Strange things found in new apartment..

Ok so this is going to sound bizarre. I just moved into a new place recently and I'm living by myself.
The apartments I live in were notorious as a rough spot in my area although they have started kicking out the scumbags and trying to give it a better name. I've only been here just over two weeks.
So I'm sitting watching the movie Mr Brooks and I hear something drop in the apartment. It sounded like a big spider or something so I panicked as me and spiders don't see eye to eye ☺ I ignore it and about a half an hour later, yep the same noise.
Curiousity got the better of me. It sounded like it was coming from the kitchen so I jumped up on the counter and looked above the cupboards as there is some sort of vent up there..
There was a piece of cardboard and in it, what looks like coke.
Also, there was MASSIVE and I Mean huge what looks like poos from what I'm assuming is a rat...
I'm nervous now about everything. How do I even talk to management about this?! "Ah there's drugs and rat crap in my apartment"
I can't tell my friends because I know if they find out they will never come to my apartment again and I'll end up with a 20 cats and no friends!
How should I bring this up with the management?

    Thank you!

You say to management "ah, there's drugs and rat poo in my apartment - please fix it."

You need to nip anything like that in the bud!

Maybe the police too - you don't want the drugs owners coming back for their stash

First contact the landlord and tell him that you suspect there's a rodent problem and has he put poison down. There's a chance that that's what's in the bags.

If your landlord hasn't been laying poison for the rats do not touch anything and call the cops. Tell them that you think you may have found some stuff in your apartment and can they please send someone round to take it away. You won't get in any trouble with them: dealers don't generally call the cops to dispose of gear.

Alternatively call your manager to complain about the rats and dispose of the drugs down the loo.

Let landlord know straight away. Hopefully it can be dealt with quickly!

Rats on coke? Well that's a new one! Could rats actually nibble on cocaine, just out of curiosity?

They'll attempt to eat anything. It'd probably kill them fairly quick though, but in the meantime you'd have to deal with some energetic arseholes of rodents.

God I didn't even think about people coming back for their drugs 😟 the rats won't be the only ones crapping themselves.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to just tell him however, I hate confrontation. He seems like a nice guy so fingers crossed it'll get sorted

I'm sorry... but the thought of rats running around off their faces on coke makes me laugh.

    Anyway, please contact the landlord.

I have to admit I did find it a little funny last night but now I'm thinking they'll be coming down. I'm going to have some angry rats on my hands..
Thanks for advice,I'm going to have to just suck it up and talk to management

It's not often I get to laugh out loud when reading PI. Thanks for that image :)

OP - just get in touch with your management. You can decide together on what to do with the "packages".

So told him this morning assuming it would be taken care of by the time I got home. Everythings still there. I am half thinking of calling him again because this should really be a priority in my mind.

Call the DEA guards, tell them there is drugs you won't have to wait long.
