Hi there. Flying Dublin to Edinburgh on Wednesday morning with Ryanair. flight is at 7.10am. We will have booked in online. how early do we need to be in the airport? A friend has told me at least 2 hours before flight but that seems a bit excessive. Can i get advice from some of our more frequent flyers please?

If you just have hand luggage you can head straight to security at T1. If you're at security for 0600 you should be fine. The morning can be busy but I've never been more than 15/20 mins.

Busiest time of the day. I wouldn't leave any less than an hour and three quarters. I'd be happier with the two hours. I'd rather be having a coffee at the gate than stuck behind some eejits in security sorting their potions.

I used to regularly fly to London on the 6:25am flight on a Monday. Would aim to be there for about 5:30am. Nothing in carry on that can cause a delay, have laptop out of bag, gels and toiletries in appropriate bag and shoes/belt off. Never ever an issue.

I used to work at Dublin Airport

In the terminal by 6.00 am is more than early enough.

That's brilliant, thanks a lot. Travelling with cabin baggage only so will aim to be there at 6 or a bit before

Sorry, but i have another question. Is it a long walk to the gate as one of the group might not be the quickest walking?

Your talking a good 15min walk to the last Ryanair gate.

Why not buy the Airport Genie/Fast Track and get through security quicker?
