Attheraces discussing this morning the likelihood of this great Dynasty of racing disbanding and O' Brien leaving with perhaps Wachman or David O' Meara taking over. Anyone with an inside line?

    Link???

Id look at Wachman before the rest because hes married to Kate Magnier so the family ties would help relations.

Not sure someone like O Meara has the experience to take over such a big operation yet, whereas Wachman has been training down in cashel for a long time now

I've heard the same rumours lately aswell, Aiden moving down to tullahought in Kilkenny his father in law Joeseph Crowleys and O Meara taking over the ballydoyle set up

This move actually makes sense. Aidan is trying to build a family dynasty, but that is always going to be difficult when someone else owns the stable. By going it alone, he can guarantee the future of his kids. I imagine Joseph's future on the flat is all but over, and Donnacha's is uncertain (he looks as tall as his brother and is only 17). If his kids have training aspirations, he'll also be able to pass along a top class stable, ready to go.

Would you say that its a brave move by O'Brien?
On Joseph - I know that he has had issues with weights this season, but is this mainly to do with height?

In an interview on one of the Racing programmes, Aidan hinted that Joseph was going to go jumps training. They are obviously thinking of it, but listen, anything is possible.

Listen,DOM is training majority cast offs in the north of England, granted he won a few group races this year, but its worlds apart from Ballydoyle set up
Watchman has limited success to date given ample opportunity.
If Anne Marie decides to go,only Willie Mullins or Michael Dickinson will be replacing them
Though Shark has an outside chance owing to his ability to hype up horses

One things for sure in my eyes "the boys" will live to regret it if they don't do everything to keep O' Brien it's all well and good saying he has the ammo, which he does but by God he knows how to keep them sound and get them ready for the big day.

The O'bs are having a bit of a laugh though with the nepotism involving the riding arrangements. How they can see fit to try to use their children over best available is beyond a joke.

The great coolmore cleanout eh.... DOM is a strange rumoured replacement ( and it is going around a while) but I suppose he has won G1's with limited options. I mean Move in Time won the Prix de l'Abbaye last year having joined DOM off 85!

O Meara just denied all the rumours in the racing post.. Says he has never been approached about taking over in ballydoyle

WOW, seems like a big move for O'Brien to walk away from the Coolmore job.

While i agree that the jockey bookings must be a cause of friction there (personally im a huge fan of O'Donoghe) you'd think they can get over that, im sure O'Brien has his faults but he's some track record and he does keep them sound.

Cant see him going back exclusivly training jumpers if he does leave, maybe Joseph will take that on, you'd think JP would be sending plenty his way (be great to know when those horses are trying...)

you'd imagine the Arabs will be sending Aidan serious fire power if he does leave.

Could Mullins take over at Ballydoyle???

Do any of the Magnier or O'Brien children work outside of the business?
