The BBC is rumored to have lost their lucrative contract with the UK Met Office that has provided their weather forecasts for the past 10 years.

There is more details about the story here below.

I'm frankly a bit shocked about this news myself. I always thought that the BBC weather forecasters are the most accurate out of the UK jurisdiction. The other forecasts on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky News are now a bit light on their weather output nowadays.

The graphics out of BBC Weather are excellent though. It will be a shame to lose them to a foriegn weather provider if one takes the contract. I wonder what employment conditions are the current BBC weather presenters are on now. It will be a shame to lose them of the BBC and got to one of the light weather forecasters on one of the other UK channels.
