    Hi

    Just looking for some info/help

    son starting 1st year DIT Dublin applied for and just waiting to see if suzi grant will be confirmed as ok

    suzi grant query is this to cover college fees / accommodation ??

    OR Are the fees then automatically paid and suzi grant is to be used for accommodation costs etc ..

    what I'm worried is that suzi grant will have to be used to pay for college fees and accommodation costs etc :confused:

    There are 12 different SUSI grant rates. The rate awarded is based on your assessed income. SUSI pay fees direct to the college.

    Special Rate Adjacent (45Km or Under)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €2375 maintenance

    Special Rate Non Adjacent (Over 45Km)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €5915 maintenance

    100% maintenance Adjacent (45Km or Under)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €1215 maintenance

    100% Non Adjacent (Over 45km)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €3025 maintenance

    75% Adjacent Rate of Maintenance grant (45Km or Under)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €910 maintenance

    75% Non Adjacent Rate of Maintenance grant (Over 45km)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €2270 maintenance


    50% Adj Rate of Maintenance grant (45Km or Under)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €605 maintenance

    50% Non Adjacent Rate of Maintenance grant available (Over 45km)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €1515 maintenance

    25% Adjacent Rate of Maintenance grant available(45Km or Under)
    €3000 student contribution fee paid plus €305 maintenance


    25% Non Adj.
    Rate of Maintenance grant available
    (Over 45km)
    3000 student contribution fee paid plus €755 maintenance


    No maintenance 100% student contribution
    3000 student contribution fee paid


    No maintenance 50% student contribution
    €1500 student contribution fee paid

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
