    I think I would be too embarrassed to go to Lisdoonvarna for their matchmaking festival in case I met someone I knew, it just seems a bit desperate. Is it a good place to find a partner or the usual place where there are twice as many males as females?

    Been there a couple of times just for the laugh, plenty of teachers and nurses and guards, the whole town is like the Coppers of the Burren. No Tennent's though, and Dublin prices for bed and board. You're better off coming to Donegal for a weekend.

    18-80 and slightly more women than men the weekends I was there, but if you discount the ones without their own teeth or hipjoints I'd say probably back to 50/50ish

    Nevermind the matchmaking, its a great weekend to have the craic!
    Was at it a few years ago, great mix of people. The men are very forward. I had a boyfriend at the time but youre sure to score if you do go.
