lost Baggage with etihad but have no purchase receipts

    Hi,
    Etihad lost my bag 2 months back. Now they said that they are going to pay for my claim. I claimed for 1400 euros but I have no receipts at all. So will I be getting any money even if I don't have any purchase receipts? What are my rights when I don't have any receipts?

    you only need receipts for when your bag is delayed and you choose to buy replacement items. If your bag is lost completely - that is - for 21 days or more - you can claim up to 1131 SDR (that should be just about 1414 eur) and you don't need any receipts (it is unreasonable to expect someone to have them anyway).

    Check out Montreal convention for more info. The only caveat is that you can't claim anything for jewelry, expensive or electronic goods, as they never should have been in the bag in the first place

    Thanks martin. I thought the same. They were saying that I will get only 140 dollars without receipts but will email them this details now.
