Just as you offer! I am paid up to date but a few of my neighbors haven't bothered at all ... It's annoying ... It suits me to put a few bob in here and there at post office ... My query is if it rubs a few weeks over the "pay by" date / is there a penalty ?

    Hi 2012paddy2012,

There are penalties that apply if charges remain unpaid after one year and the household has not entered into a payment plan with Irish Water. These penalties will be added to bills three months after a year of non-payment, and break down as follows:

1 adult household: 30 Eur. for each year that the charges remain unpaid.
All other households: 60 Eur. each year that the charges remain unpaid.

The Government are considering a range of options to deal with the matter of non-payment, but no formal announcement has been made in relation to this as of yet.

We hope that you find this information helpful. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further queries.

    Kind regards,
    Amy.

Where a bill remains unpaid after the 14 day due date, the customer's account will enter into arrears. Irish Water will issue these customers with a reminder message to pay their water charges.

Penalties only apply if charges remain unpaid after one year and the household has not entered into a payment plan with Irish Water. These penalties will be added to bills three months after a year of non-payment.

I hope this information helps. Please contact us should you have any other queries.
