How long to leave barley before rolling?

    If it's dry you can roll straight away unless it's treated with acid.

    So both of us were wrong! I thought there was a cooling period of a week and the oul fella thought it was a month!
    Any idea on protein levels for this year? Last year it was poor at 9%..

    We roll it as needed here

    Is crimping not a better bet- no need to dry it- easier to store and no need to roll it later- (hate the dust) course there has to be a crimper available in the area-

    No idea of volume moisture Relative humidity in heap but depends on how long your keeping it for as would want it at 10 degree or below for longterm storage in the heap to keep it 'good'
