Picked up a 2ltr bottle yesterday and it was from the north.

They used to buy their milk in the republic. I guess its much cheaper to buy it in the north but they are still charging €1.60 for it when Tesco milk 2ltr is €1.49 (though that milk tastes like its watered down so I buy Thurles milk).

Milk from the north normally sells for €1.20-€1.30 around here in stores like Dealz and euro50 so they're making a nice little profit.

Not good for farmers from Republic, but its a free market so nothing can be done.
