Anyone know why the tax on sxi model corsas is 358 and on the club model it's only 280, aren't they the same car just cosmetically different?

€358 is the tax on the engine size between 1201 cc and 1300 ccs .
    €280 is the tax on co2 emissions between 130 and 140 g/km.
In early 2008,all cars were still on the engine size system. When the co2 system came in,in mid 2008,if your '08 car could benefit from being put on the co2 system,it was supposed to have been moved.
The car on €358 on the cc system would only benefit if its co2 emissions were below 140 g/km.

According to the motor tax website the tax band for the club is 131-140 and the sxi is 141-155, both based on co2

So the Sxi will be taxed on engine size for the rest of its life, because it's the lower of the two ( presuming it was registered in Jan 08 to June 08 inclusive)

I remember some cars at the time having same model and engine size but different build dates having diff co2. Some sxi were lower co2. Nissan micra had same issue, some were 145g and some were 139g. Maybe look for another sxi on the lower tax. They definitely around because I definitely sold a few over those years.
