Slow Roast Lamb Shank With Beer

    Hi,

I saw a very interesting recipe on an old episode of Rick Stein. A Majorcan lady roasts lamb (if I remember rightly) over some root vegetables, lemon pieces with San Miguel beer poured over it. Stein himself says this one would be difficult to re-create at home without the old open oven she had.

Would a variation of this work with a lamb shank in the average cooking dish and fan oven? Root veg, lemon, beer and the shank?

Could anyone give some advice on this or would I be better to try a more tried and tested approach for a lamb shank?

I'm relatively new to cooking properly!
