    Folks,

Myself and my soon to be wife would like to make our own rings ahead of our wedding this December. I'd like a pair of rings that include out fingerprints inside the ring like the ones below (Image from Stonechatjewellers - no connection)

Can anyone recommend a good ring making couse in Ireland perferrably with engraving options like above?
    thanks

Irish Design Shop in Dublin city centre and Barry Doyle in George's Street Arcade do make your own wedding ring classes. Possibly Dublin School of Jewellery might or Cormac Cuffe (south Dublin I think). Or try Da Capo Goldsmiths in Trinity Design Tower - not sure if they would do a day course with you but they could certainly make up something like this (if this isn't actually a photo of their work! ) I'm sure there are more but I can't think of any more just now. Independent designer makers are more likely to offer this service than large high-street type places.

The rings in that photo would have been either drawn up in CAD and cast with those fingerprints and names already on them, or the details would have been laser engraved afterwards. That inscription was definitely not done by hand.

Engraving is an extremely difficult skill to master. If you're interested in getting a piece hand engraved with your names, try Don O'Mahoney in Cork city or Pierce Healy in Dublin. I doubt it'd be possible to hand engrave an accurate representation of your finger print (how wide is your band going to be? 2-5mm max probably) If you just get names or dates engraved, their hand engraving (vs machine engraving) is far more beautiful than a machine, like handwriting versus a computer print out.

    Hope this helps!
