Is there any way to block certain types of posts on Facebook?

I've got some Facebook friends who like to share posts from animal shelters and that sort of thing. Now I am an animal lover (not in that way :D) and seeing posts about missing dogs, pets that have been rescued, animal cruelty etc. make me feel a little down.

I don't want to block my friends from my Facebook feed because I enjoy the non-animal posts they share. I also respect what they're doing - I just don't want to see those sorts of posts myself. I've tried blocking the original organisations from my Facebook feed but they still show up on my feed. Any suggestions?

Delete them and tell them why. Weirdos.

Have you tried clicking the down arrow on the right of the post -> hide post -> see less from animal shelter -> hide all from animal shelter. Seemed to work for me, I've had loads of friends sharing these posts recently too!

You could unfollow them or just delete them. Had a big delete session myself a few days ago. A neighbour shared a picture of a dead toddler who looked to have been hit by a jeep and got run over by the front wheels. It was one of those "type amen or bad luck will come to you" pictures. Awful stuff, I wasn't aware of how many religious nutters and easily led people I knew!!

This is not possible, there is no News Feed filter yet on facebook. I also wonder why. Maybe because of advertising purposes?
