Ownership and repair cost

My brother and I have joint ownership (50/50) on vehicle that we inherited from our father. My brother has the primary use of this vehicle (90% of the time if not more) recently when my brother was using the vehicle it required some repairs totaling $600. My brother thinks I should contribute half on the repairs and I feel that my responsibility should far less since he is the primary user of the vehicle. Who is responsible for the repairs and at what rate?

Have you thought about Judge Judy given the $ amount.

It's a matter for you and your brother to agree.

If you can't agree, the car doesn't get repaired. Or, the one that needs it the most gets it repaired at his own expense.

If you and your brother cannot agree over matters like this, it would be wisest to sell the car and split the proceeds. Or, you sell your share to him. Or something. It's a deteriorating asset anyway, and it will deteriorate much faster if it doesn't get serviced and repaired because you are falling out over the cost of it.
