Mallow-Tralee Line

    Notice IE will be running an 8 coach service to Dublin. Expected only Cork platforms can handle such a size. Can Tralee or are they just planning to lock the doors on the eight coach?

    When?

    The two specials ex Tralee tomorrow are 5 and 7 car respectively.

    Only Millstreet, Killarney and Tralee can handle 8 cars. 8 car MkIVs are now cleared to Tralee as of last week. Only 7 car 22000s are cleared for Tralee.

    Sunday mornings 07.50 Sports Special scheduled to call at Farranfore, Killarney, Rathmore and Mallow. Believe it will be 22000 class on Sunday not Mark IV's.

    Meant Sunday not tomorrow, no the 07.50 is 7 cars.

    Interesting that the website has A-H and H was only added in the day or so. Perhaps they are just taking bookings in H to put passengers in other coaches as they don't sell full amount online becauae of the way the 22000 may be turned when joined.

    IE schedule first Mark IV service on Tralee line operating on 20 September running Killarney-Dublin non stop. Website shoes Mark IV anyway..

    Just as an aside to this. 9ICR formations are cleared to Tralee. Can only serve Millstreet Killarney (main platform) and Tralee. Has been like that since September 2009.

    On the date Jamie referred to a ghost carriage H was put on line to sell excess seats that existed in various carriages A-G.
