Apparently the winds were high. Crikey !

What is wrong with journalism in this country ?

They're a right bunch of spas alright.

A friend of mine that's gained notoriety on these boards has put an embargo on reading anything from Irish journalists. I think I'll send him a copy of this to hear him moan about how he'll never read it...

This happens at Dublin Airport a few times a week and is a non-event in almost all cases. Crews practise for go-arounds and are always ready to take that course if required. Passengers may find it strange and they are probably encouraged in this by articles such as the above, which seek to dramatise routine events.

Makes me wonder if I could make a career for myself writing about whenever my Da misses the exit off the Rathcoole dual carriageway with stuff like "Major incident in South Dublin". Maybe expand it out to reporting on things like when a cat gets lost in a tree - honestly some national media is like local news in UK. Alan Partridge journalism at it's very, very finest.

Its click bait unfortunately - and outside of a paywall it is the only way a lot of publications generate income.

Was involved in a go around once. What makes it unnerving is the pilots are too busy flying the plane to tell you what happened.

After about 10 minutes I guess the pilot got a chance to us what happened.

    Non event though.

Just wondering is The Journal a division of The Daily Mail now.

Either they have nothing better to do than blow up a fairly routine procedure, or someone there thinks this is a big deal / is full of crap?
