Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to contact google.ie to report a competitors company manipulating a company name, so that when its searched on google.ie it point to their website.

    Thanks.

If they're optimising a page to rank for a competitors name, that's perfectly valid and a great way of taking traffic (and customers, and revenue) from a competitor.

If they're manipulating search results with spammy black hat tactics, the fact that they're ranking for a competitors name is completely irrelevant and it's the spammy tactics you should be complaining about not the fact that they're ranking for a brand other than their own (the fact that they can achieve this, even with using black hat techniques, suggests the brand they're competing with has some serious visibility issues of their own).

If you want to report a site to Google you can use their file a webspam report. You want to make sure they are doing something webspam related, where "outranking me" isn't spam in spite of what many site owners seeming to think otherwise ;)

You can also try raising the site in one of the Google forums and/or through social channels with some of the more active figures on the webspam team, but again I'd make sure that the site in question is actually manipulating results using webspam before taking it any further.
