Recieved registration form yesterday? Uncapped bill this morning?

Only moved into a new house in May.. received nothing about Irish Water when I moved in.

Had registered in my previous residence with IrishWater and moved out before I got a bill.. heard nothing from IrishWater (presumably ye had more contact details than the registered address).

Received an notification letter requiring me to register yesterday morning.. so was planning to do something about it today and received a bill for €64 unmetered bill for the quarter starting April 1st I believe.

The majority of half that time I was not present in the house, so it's absolutely ridiculous to assume I'll be paying that.

If I register and get issued a metered bill for the period I was there, I'll pay it. Otherwise, I'll be ignoring this and any future bills from ye.

    Hi Basq,

    Thank you for your query.

The bill you received today is a default bill as your account has not been updated to reflect you have moved out of your old property.

If you contact Irish Water on 1890 448 448 our team will be able to cancel the bill, update the account details of your new property, and issue you with a new bill.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,
    Niall

    Thanks for your reply Niall.

Will they be able to look up my old account based on my previous address, or will I need to have the account number?

The latter would require me to search through a mountain of documentation.

    Regards,

    Basq

    Hi Basq,

    Thanks for your reply.

While an account number is preferable--and the quickest way to access your account--a member of our team will be able to locate you on our system, due to your details being registered on your previous property.

If you would like to PM the following details we can provide you with your account number before you call us to update your details.
    They include:

    - Previous address;
    - Name and
    - Contact number

I hope you found this helpful.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead

    Bump for this..

Rang up 2 or 3 weeks ago and spoke to a representative about my situation - he updated my previous account to my new address, and said he'd issue me with a new bill within the next week and a half.

Have got nothing but a reminder to pay my unmetered bills today.

Can someone follow up with me on this?

    This is getting ridiculous!

Made another call about sending me out an unmetered bill for the time in my new residence... told it would be sent out and I could register with the Irish Water website a half hour after that call.

Registered there last week and I'm JUST seeing bills for just the time I was not in the residence.. and am getting texts about unpaid bills now.

I really sympathise with you!! Thought they might have gotten their act together at this stage. At one point in my communication with IW, I was told I was a resident of Riverchapel, Co. Wexford,
when I actually live in north Co. Dublin!! ::(
