    Evening all,

Gave my boiler a clean out yesterday.

It had a new burner tip and general check up last autumn; is it normal for so much rust within the boiler and from the picture of the back wall; do ye think I have flame impingement on the wall??

    Cheers folks.

Can you post a picture of the condensate trap and where the condensate pipe leaves the building to the condensate drain..,
Also what size nozzle is fitted and what is the pump pressure set at..

I'll try and find out the nozzle size tomorrow.

Ive no idea what the pump pressure is set at..... no pressure guage fitted.

The condensate drains out to a drain outside...... nice drip of water out of it when boiler gets to condensing mode.

if you have a flugas analyser printout from the last service it would give us a good idea of the set up of your boiler

if you have one post the readings

that's not to say the readings will be same now

Sorry jimf...... no readings unfortunately..... wasn't at home when the plumber called last year.

the rust you refer to would be scaling of the baffles normal enough to find in boilers during annual service once its not excessive

the scorch mark would not indicate impingement if you had impingement I would be expecting to see a very sooty boiler

ideally your boiler needs to be serviced and set up using pressure gauge and flugas analyser

Also if your flexible hose is a few years old,you should be changing it during the service too, this is important.

also, the o-ring seal is missing from burner front mounting flange

    Checked the nozzle earlier...

    Danfoss 1.95kg/h....... Z1U........ 0.65.....80ES

Right; going to get a pressure gauge; the 'O-Ring' DGOBS has noticed missing, will change out the flexible pipe and finally will get a plumber who will give me a copy of the flue gas analysis.

Any recommendations for a plumber in the Tuam / claregalway area.

    Thanks to all who replied.
