Dangerous tyres

Bought a Toyota avensis in May just gone from B<snip>motors and I drove the car home after paying the balance of the deposit. I noticed a flicker in the steering wheel as I drove. I also felt there was a smell entering the cab a while after the engine warmed up. I rang up the dealer to explain the faults and they told me to bring it back to investigate. I had explained the smell I experienced and stressed that the steering problem was not a balancing issue. Got the car back a few days later with no faults found I was told. The wobble still in the steering I got some one else to look at it and they found a big slit on the inside of one of the front tyres. Traveling the m50 every day I could have had a serious accident not only myself but others could have been involved too. I rang the dealer up to complain and I was told I must have hit a pothole and that I would have to pay for a new tyre to be fitted by them. Stay away from this dodgy crowd especially where tyres are concerned. They only put crap ones on the cars.
