I applied for my driving test by putting myself on a cancellation slot which means I have to sit the test in the next two weeks. I haven't been given a date yet. However I need more time. Is there any way I can cancel my application?
It says you must give at least 10 days notice, but I might not get 10 days notice of my test date?

Do the test don't put it off.

Go and get a few more lessons and a pre test to be as prepared as one can.

If you have no car rent it off learner school or teacher.

    Best of luck.

Give the test a shot. The least that can happen is you failing but you will learn a lot about your driving and how the test is conducted in general so you will be more confident next time. You might even pass!

Guys, can you just tell me please if I can cancel a cancellation slot or not? I am stressed out as it is.

IIRC you can reject one cancellation test, but better to confirm with the RSA. Problem is that they could give you one a few days later which you have to do.

No you can't, not with a cancellation slot anyway.

I remember I had the same problem as you last year. What I done was call this number Customer Support 1890-40-60-40 and I told them that I wouldn't be ready to do the test in such short notice, and could you put me down for the test in July, I called them in May and I asked them could they put me down in two months time and they did no problem. So I had two months to get ready for the test and have my car repaired.

Call them on that number I gave you above and they will for sure put you a month or two ahead for the test. Just tell them you need more time.

    Best of luck.

If you let me know where you are I may be able to help ? I'm a driving instructor and if possible I would be happy to help, free of charge. Call it good karma

You can cancel it. Just ring them up and tell them to take you off the list before they issue you a test date.

Why not just ring them and tell them to put you on at a time of your choosing ? seems the more logical way imo. I'd ring them in the morning ASAP before the 10 day point, don't wait.

If they ring you up with a date you don't need to accept that first date they give you

I went for a cancellation in April (passed!) and the lady who gave me the appointment said that I couldn't cancel within the 10 days without losing the fee. If you are going to lose your fee you may as well go for it, best case scenario you pass, worst case scenario you fail this one and learn from your mistakes!

I'm in the same boat took a slot two weeks away because the booking site kind of confused me and thought it was the only time available, but for me at least I'd know I'd keep putting it on the long finger due to my nerves.. I dont know your circumstances but if you have everything in order and just dont feel you can pass you're not alone there :)

I'm just going to get in a lesson or two with a new ADI than the one I did my EDT with (fresh eyes and all that)
work on my faults and take a pre test.. maybe another right before the real one if I can..

however if you really want to book it further down the line just call them as bongalongherb said and explain to them, im sure if you call before you get given a date it should be alright.
