Floor trainers in gyms

    Hi all,
This is a bit of research for my job actually...
We're a German fitness equipment manufacturer with associated apps. My (German) boss reckons UK (and by extension) Irish gyms don't have what he calls "floor trainers" and reckons it's all personal trainers. Now, it's a long time since I was a member of a gym in Ireland but back then Total Fitness in Dublin certainly had "floor trainers" who you could approach for general advice or to do a fitness test etc. without paying extra for personal training. Is that not still the case?

We're more interested in finding out about the current situation in the UK/US market, but I think Ireland takes a lead from the UK in these things so should be comparable. If anyone knows the lay of the land in typical US gyms that would be "bonus points".

    Cheers!

In my gym we have floor trainers but more emphasis is given to weight training here and yoga for girls.

In my gym all of the trainers have posters advertising their prices. They don't seem to interact at all unless you are paying them. That said the annual membership is cheap so you get what you pay for.
