I've been in NZ for almost 10 months. Im returning next month.

Will I qualify for jobseekers if I have been away for so long?

I signed up for a springboard course and I need to be on jobseekers to register.

    Thanks

Ya for almost a year. DO you think I will need bank statements and the like?

If you have a bank acc here, they may ask for statements. The best thing to do is sign on when you get home (if you need to)and let the dept guide you as to what doc`s they require.

    hi ,

I went through this last year year after being in Australia for 4 years.

It was no problem , I had to show bank account statements. I could only show Irish account ( which had pretty much been inactive for the 4 years) as I had closed my Aus account before returning home.

You must also show that you are actively looking for work , I showed a copy of my current CV and records of any email job applications.

I think if you provide everything they ask for , and explain your genuine case you won't have a problem.

I found the SW to be very helpful , and once I had a meeting and submit all my forms etc I think about 2/3 weeks later my claim was approved, with back pay.

    Good luck
