Once again, I have received a 'bill' which references 'my account'...

As I would rather rot in hell than in anyway legitimise this crony ridden scam to privatise our water supply, I have no intention of 'becoming a customer'.

As I have never and never will accept that I have an 'account' with you,  can you please outline to me how I can have my details removed from your commercial database.

    Hi galwayfellaBETA,

    Thanks for your query.

Irish Water was set up as Ireland's new national water utility company by the Water Services Act 2013. Our relationship with our customers is founded in statute rather than in contract. The functions of Irish Water are set out in the Water Services Act 2007 to 2014 (the "Water Services Acts"). Further details of the services we provide can be found on our website,www.water.ie

The 2007 Water Services Act and the Water Services Act (No 2) 2013 deem an occupier of a premises as being liable for paying domestic water charges. Under the Act, it is assumed the owner is the occupier unless proved otherwise. This places the occupier as a customer.

Pursuant to section 21 of the Water Services (No. 2) Act 2013, Irish Water is obliged to charge each customer for the provision by it of water services. The obligation to pay for water services arises directly from legislation and the relationship between Irish Water and its customers is founded in statute, not in contract. On that basis, Irish Water is obliged to charge all persons who are in receipt of water services from it irrespective as to whether or not such persons have registered with Irish Water. Section 21(3) provides that such a charge is payable on demand in such manner as Irish Water determines. Therefore, it is not possible for us to return your registration form.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please feel free to contact us, should you have any other queries.

    Kind regards,
    Niall

Niall, I feel for you, flogging a dead horse mate.

This shameful, traitorous attempt to rob the Irish people of their water supply has failed.

Funny thing is, I would have no problem paying for usage had a referendum to enshrine the ownership of our water and it’s supply in the constitution been called.

" Our relationship with our customers is founded in statute rather than in contract."
I AM NEVER GOING TO BE 'A CUSTOMER'. I will see you in court to contest that bullsh!t! As far as I am aware, I am a free man in a free country. NO one can force me in to a contract!!

You are a for profit commercial company, I have the right to have my details removed from your database.

PLEASE can you please outline to me how I can have my details removed from your commercial database.

any update on this.  I tried to get my details removed from the database,

I was told I would have to complete the following steps:

Register with Irish Water - even though they all ready have my details
When registered, I can then request to have my details removed, but...
I have to send in proof that I am not connected to mains water or sewerage.

On review Irish water MAY be able to remove my details from their database.

So basically - register your details to unregister

Off-topic posts removed. If you wish to discuss the political aspects of Irish Water, there are other threads in other forums to do exactly that. This forum is for customer queries only.
