Starts online today upto 50% off. Or if you are a member you can go to your local store between 6-9pm this evening and open to the general public in the morning. Just order a few bits online earlier and most of the them were at least 40% off and some at 50%.

Nice new North Face jacket at 40% off, thanking you. Not that I really have the money, but I've been looking for months.

Was in Carrickmines this evening and they massively messed up, they had to take down their website today as they had put practically everything they stock up at 40-50% discount by mistake.

Website now corrected but several pee'd off people including me :(

Was up there myself and the guys mentioned the sale will be backup online as soon as the company behind it fix the mess up.

I would say any orders that went through would need to be honored

Thanks for that. They're well prepared with their website errors anyway.

Makes sense alright. They are still working on the site. I tried to order a few items at 40% off then when I went to check out all the prices were back to normal.

I'm not sure a disclaimer protects them from pricing errors though, whats to stop them continuously displaying wrong prices in order to draw click bait? (As happened last year too)

The problem is until someone takes the risk of taking them to court the law is unclear - in shops they can refuse to sell an item and withdraw it from sale - but in a shop if you have already paid it is too late as the contract is binding.

On the web there is a lack of clarity on "acceptance".

I ordered the Choktoi at 40% discount but haven't heard anything since.

That was 1st thought I'm sure something happened last year to a pricey item on a particular website and they had to honor all the orders

The price you see is the price you pay.

    From NCA:
    Distance selling

If you are in a shop or on a stall, your prices must be clearly visible and legible to prospective customers and near the product. But what if you are selling via a website or by mail order?

These are instances of "distance selling", where you and your customer aren't physically present together. Other examples would be orders taken over the phone or by fax or email.
In these case the price must be given near to the description of the product (for example next to each other on a web page, or near to each other in a mail order catalogue).

that was amazon, they sold a ton of stuff for 1 cents due to system error and had to honour the prices, the row tho was over amazon passing those price shortfalls back to the sub retailers

This debate comes up every time there's an error in website pricing. They don't have to honour the price. The law isn't so rigid that it doesn't recognise mistakes.

Have a look for previous threads about similar situations. People with more knowledge of the law than me have explained it.

Contacted them about my order which was 40% off (in store it's still the full price) - they are waiting for stock to arrive to send it out....

So looks like I've got a decent deal.
