    ACOI Professional Certificate in Compliance

Hi all, I notice there are occasional but regular requests for course info/texts etc. Has anyone been successful obtaining anything?

Is anyone undergoing this right now?

Have a background in Governance, Risk & Compliance - but never ventured into this area directly. I'm finding all these areas; audit, internal control, compliance, each becoming more and more specialised and streamlined. Surely their efficacy is reduced the more independent subject streams they become?

Would anyone else agree? Is the world proliferating with single-subject matter experts (ssme's :))

Just completed it in June have a background in Law & Finance. Currently looking around for opportunities. Found Law was a major advantage in doing it as I was working at the same time & had one day study leave.

Two exams multiple choice questions. Loads of time allowed to get through it but the negative marking balances it up.

Was wondering does anyone know if it travels well, as in UK? Or what's it really like to work in? Compared to say funds.

    Hey Whatawaster,

Thanks for the reply & info...I'm just returning from UK after 3+ years. I repeatedly ran into that "city experience" thingy - while I'd worked in risk 'n compliance (back in the day when they were essentially the same issue) the difference in jurisdiction was highlighted to me.

I hung tight to the higher EU level of things; being able to walk them through that helped me but the compliance side didn't quite compare against say a London local. But as in most areas, if you have EU level exposure it will help.

I'm not from a focused compliance base, but it is now a very very focused area. My feel is its a little more monotonous nowadays and specialised. But compliance travels through many industries within FS sector.
