Hi, I'm getting unwanted texts from Irish Water and I was wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to ban texts from certain numbers on your phone?

Would it not be easier to contact IW and ask them to remove your mobile number from their system?

You've signed up to a company and don't want to pay them?

You should be able to tell Irish Water that you don't want to receive correspondence via SMS. If you can't do it on the website then you can do it if you ring them up.

Go on "Talk To" and tell them

If you have an iPhone, it's really easy to block specific numbers.

Don't block the number, because then you might miss something important they send you.

    Maybe he didn't sign up?

I feel no obligation to pay for things other people subscribe me to!

Well it does seem by far the most likely reason for the texts.
They have my phone number and they never text me.

But make sure you tell them that you want the texts stopped but you wont give them any info including your mobile number.

Seems to be the done thing in that forum

Stop contacting me ( Im not giving you my details )

My address is wrong ( Im not giving you my details )

My bill is wrong ( Im not giving you my details )

How did you get my address ( Im not giving you my details )

    That c**t ;)

PS I thought you were referring to Ireland's cuddly radio counsellor\gatekeeper there. Never heard of the forum.

I signed up to get a landlord off my case like thousands of others, I won't be paying voluntarily while the earth still revolves around the sun though!

Your best bet is to contact them or use the Talk to Forum here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1643

With regards to blocking numbers on your phone, your phone provider might be able to help you
